Meeting was called to order with the pledge of allegiance at 7 pm at the town hall. In attendance were Chairman john LaDue, Supervisor 1 Corey Leis, Supervisor 2 James Chapiewsky, Clerk Sandy Schweiger, Treasurer Jan Clark, Patrolman Scot Sanders, Pandora Flores, Scott Melvin,
Lonnie Muller and the neighbor dog.
Supervisor Chapiwesky made a motion to accept the financial report as read, 2nd by Supervisor Leis; all ayes, motion carried. Supervisor Leis made a motion, 2nd by Supervisor Chapiewsky to transfer $70,000 from money management to checking; all ayes, motion carried. Supervisor Chapiewsky made a motion, 2nd by Supervisor Leis, to pay the bills; all ayes, motion carried.
An inquiry was received regarding the possibility of a mobile home park. The chairman indicated that although the town does not have zoning, there are state laws and county ordinances that would apply; he will contact the interested party.
Mr. Sanders noted with the seal-coating completed he will take a leave of absence for a few weeks for knee replacement surgery beginning July 13th. Informed the board about the condition of the loader which has 5000 hours, running well but needing tires. A new loader would cost $165,000; current loader worth $51,700 in trade. This piece of equipment is used regularly.
County has picked up ATV signs for installation; the deaf child signs have been ordered.
Problems with sewage draining into right-of-way persists on Irish Ridge; some residents have been notified that they are responsible for clearing the nearby culverts.
Next road projects concern Kelbel and Woods Ridge, which has a cave-in and washed out shoulders. More patching will be done as well as mowing and grading.
Chairman LaDue reminded everyone that equipment would be coming in on Knapp to restore ½ mile of fish habitat. Issues on Dell Road at the beaver pond have returned; the chairman will contact the Ho-Chunk Nation’s lawyer,
Supervisor Leis requested an extension to the culvert on TWP 24 and tapering of the road edge. Supervisor Chapiewsky noted the need for breaker run and gravel on Lovstad at town line. Supervisor Leis was interested in spending the funds received from FEMA this year; Supervisor Chapiewsky noted the need for improvements on Ogden which were postponed due to funding. Any decision will be made next month as additional expenditures must be an agenda item.
Ms. Flores inquired about a drainage issue on upper Knapp Valley; an attempt to create a swale will be tried first, with a small culvert placed if needed.
Mr. Melvin inquired about his fireworks permit; the chairman asked him to stop by next week.
Supervisor Chapiewsky made a motion to accept the minutes, 2nd by Supervisor Leis; all ayes, motion carried. At 8: 15 pm, Supervisor Leis made a motion to adjourn, 2nd by Supervisor Chapiewsky; all ayes, motion carried.
