Town of Clinton Board Meeting
October 8, 2025
7:00 pm at the Town Hall, S1299 County Road D
Board Minutes
Meeting called to order by Chairman Von Ruden at 7:00pm
Pledge of Allegiance:
Roll Call:
- Chairman Darin Von Ruden, Supervisor #1 Joe Giles, Supervisor #2 John Chapiewsky, Town Treasurer Jan Clark, Town Clerk Lori Hemmersbach.
Financial Report and Bills:
- M/S/P: Chapiewsky/Giles moved to approve the Financial Report. (3 ayes)
- M/S/P Chapiewsky/Giles moved to pay the bills. (3 ayes)
- M/S/P: Giles/Chapiewsky moved to approve the 10.9.25 transfer from Savings to Checking of $34,000. (3 ayes)
- M/S/P Chapiewsky/Giles moved to amend the budget as follows:
- LaFarge Area Rural Fire Association increase to $5,000.00
- Westby-Christiana Annual Fee + 2% Dues increase to $4,500.00
- FICA & Medicare-employer portion-sanitation increase to $430.00
- Election-voter registration, machine & related expense increase to $600.00
- Town hall-repairs, supplies, new sign, new shed & bathroom increase to $450.00
- Web-site increase to $1,500.00
- Budgetary line of credit increase to $146,095.72 (3 ayes)
Approve Minutes:
- M/S/P: Chapiewsky/Giles moved to approve the 9.17.25 Board Meeting Minutes as presented. (3 ayes)
Public Comment:
- A resident asked for more details about what was allowed to be brought at clean up day.
2025 Road Projects:
- Working on grading and ditchwork.
- The sand/salt pile is mixed.
- What will a load of sand/salt cost this year? $150.00 same as last year is okay.
- Start thinking about driveway plowing and cost.
- Bloomingdale bridge is done, should be open soon.
- Mower is working good. Using a lot.
- Red truck has engine light on. Needs to go to LaFarge and see what’s going on.
Shop Cement Replacement:
- Waiting on paid invoice to submit for grant payment.
2026 Budget Planning:
- Went through category by category and updated.
- Clerk will update and get back to board.
Propane Contract:
- M/S/P: Chapiewsky/Giles to book 2500 gallons and pay 10¢/gallon to lock in price. (3 ayes)
Diesel Fuel Contract:
- No action.
Building Inspector:
- Darin called GEC, no response back yet.
- Darin talked to Matthew Carl about our frustrations, he understands. He’s still our building inspector.
- New guy taking his test, getting help from Vince Schmitz to get started, wants to be independent.
- Also Wayne Hagrud out of LaFarge is a building inspector.
Fall Cleanup:
- October 11 9am-3pm.
LaFarge Area Fire Assoc Annual Meeting Oct 23:
- 8pm
Cashton Fire District next meeting:
- Thinking maybe October 20 at 7pm
Date for Budget Hearing and Electors Meeting:
- November 19, at 7pm
