Town of Clinton Board Meeting

October 9, 2024

7:00 pm at the Town Hall, S1299 County Road D

Board Minutes

Meeting called to order by Chairman Leis at 7:00pm:

Pledge of Allegiance:

Roll Call:

  • Chairman Corey Leis, Supervisor #1 Darin Von Ruden, Supervisor #2 Bill Stock, Town Treasurer Jan Clark, Town Clerk Lori Hemmersbach

Financial Report and Bills:

  • M/S/P: Von Ruden/Stock moved to approve the Financial Report. (3 ayes)
  • M/S/P: Stock/Von Ruden moved to approve the 10/10/24 transfer of $24,500.00 from Savings to Checking. (3 ayes)
  • M/S/P Von Ruden/Stock to pay the bills. (3 ayes)

Approve Minutes:

  • M/S/P: Von Ruden/Stock moved to approve the 9.18.24 Board Meeting Minutes. (3 ayes)

Public Comment:

2024 Road Projects:

  • Mower update: ship date to implement @10/19, have been waiting on hydraulic motor. Will be probably another 2-4 weeks at implement to put mower on tractor.
  • Supervisor Stock made a motion to cancel the ditch mower for $82,000, as he felt we didn’t need the ditch mower. Motion died for lack of 2nd.
  • M/S/P: Von Ruden/Leis to check on financing for mower; cheapest rate for 7 years. (2 ayes: Von Ruden/Leis, 1 nay: Stock)
  • Our current mower is unusable.

2025 Budget Planning:

  • Changed yellow truck to $10,000.
  • Discussion of the need for a Line of Credit to finish out the year and pay all the bills.
  • M/S/P: Von Ruden/Stock to get a new line of credit for $50,000.00 through the Bank of Cashton for operating expenses. (3 ayes)
  • We need to have another Budget Planning discussion. Do this after Board of Review on 10/29 at 7:05pm, it will be a Special Meeting.
  • Tentatively scheduling the Budget and Levy Hearing for November 20th

Fall Cleanup:

  • This Saturday, 9am-3pm
  • Vernon County is having an electronic recycling day, next Saturday, October 19 from 8am-12pm, FREE electronic recycling, normally costs $15.00 each item.

Open Book and Board of Review:

  • Open Book: Tuesday, October 22- 9am-5pm
  • Board of Review: Tuesday, October 29- 5pm-7pm

Election:

  • Tuesday, November 5, voting 7am-8pm
  • Lots of Absentee requests.
  • Will have in-person absentee voting at the Town Hall, Monday, October 28 from 5pm-7pm
  • Voting Machine test: Monday, October 28 7pm

Public Comment:

Next Meeting Regular Board Meeting: Wednesday, November 13 at 7pm

Special Meeting: Tuesday, October 29 at 7:05pm
