Meeting called to order with the pledge of allegiance at 7 pm at the town hall. In attendance were Chairman John LaDue, Supervisor 1 Corey Leis, Supervisor 2 James Chapiewsky, Clerk Sandy Schweiger, Treasurer Jan Clark, Patrolman Scot Sanders, Mava Clark and Scott Melvin.
Supervisor Chapiewsky made a motion to accept the financial report as read, 2nd by Supervisor Leis; all ayes, motion carried. Supervisor Chapiewsky made a motion, 2nd by Supervisor Leis, to transfer $2,197 from savings to checking and $24,000 from money management to checking; all ayes, motion carried. Supervisor Leis made a motion, 2nd by Supervisor Chapiewsky, to pay the monthly bills; all ayes, motion carried.
The road crew has been busy spreading gravel, including creating a drive-around at the Recycle Center. Not enough granite is available so seal-coating will be delayed a few weeks. Mr. Sanders expressed concerns regarding drainage at Anderson and Wang Roads. Silo staves will be utilized to create a walkway from the lower parking area to the town hall.
Chairman LaDue made a motion to pass Ordinance 2-2020 allowing the sale of “Class B” alcoholic beverages, 2nd by Supervisor Chapiewsky; all ayes, motion carried. This is the result of the recent referendum which passed by a 2 to 1 margin.
Supervisor Chapiewsky inquired about ATV signs on county roads; due to lay-offs they have yet to be installed. The Clinton Ridge Cemetery needs to be mowed and trimmed.
Mr. Sanders asked for an extra radio for the backhoe. Since rental is a minimal cost, Chairman LaDue made a motion to approve, 2nd by Supervisor Chapiewsky; all ayes, motion carried.
In response to the chairman’s letter, two residents have requested no spraying on their property. Residents would be contacted prior to any herbicidal spraying.
Chairman LaDue will discuss some right-of-way issues with a property owner on Knapp Valley.
Mr. Melvin requested a fireworks permit. He was also concerned with the speed of traffic on East Bloomingdale Road, again requesting a speed limit sign. There continue to be concerns with vehicles parked on narrow streets of Bloomingdale. Finally, there does not seem to be adequate dumpster space; the board could consider adding an extra one. Chairman LaDue will discuss the possibility of a school sign with Town of Webster and investigate the speed issue.
Regarding last month’s concerns, the attendant at the Recycle Center was observing social distancing, not ignoring residents. Supervisor Chapiewsky made a motion, 2nd by Supervisor Leis, to approve the minutes; all ayes, motion carried.
