Town of Clinton Board Meeting
July 15, 2026
7:00 pm at the Town Hall, S1299 County Road D
Board Minutes
Meeting called to order by Chairman Von Ruden at 7:00pm
Pledge of Allegiance:
Roll Call:
- Chairman Darin Von Ruden, Supervisor #1 Joe Giles, Supervisor #2 John Chapiewsky, Town Treasurer Alyssa Daines, Town Clerk Lori Hemmersbach.
Financial Report and Bills:
- M/S/P: Chapiewsky/Giles moved to approve the Financial Report. (3 ayes)
- M/S/P: Chapiewsky/Giles moved to approve the 7.16.26 transfer from Savings to Checking of $4,165.07and the transfer of $54,700.00 from Tax Savings to Checking. (3 ayes)
- M/S/P: Chapiewsky/Giles moved to pay the bills. (3 ayes)
- M/S/P: Giles/Chapiewsky moved to Amend budget as follows: (3 ayes)
- Add Plow truck accessories loan line for $137,940.00
- Add Plow truck accessories purchase line for $137,937.00
- Increase Dues and Fees to $1,800.00.
- Increase Budgetary Line Credit ti $67,315.
Approve Minutes:
- M/S/P: Chapiewsky/Giles moved to approve the 6.18.26 Board Meeting Minutes as presented. (3 ayes)
Public Comment:
- Town Resident Lori Brown wants the 25mph signed straightened in Bloomingdale. Also asked who’s responsible for the fire number sign upkeep- land owner are.
2026 Road Projects:
- Posted signed
- Patched Knapp Valley Road
- Started 2nd round of mowing
- Supervisor Giles stated that he can’t tell the difference in what we did for seal coating on Bloomingdale Road and what Webster did.
- Scot has been sanding roads where seal coat is bleeding as needed.
Building Inspector:
- No action
Part Time Help:
- Looking for part time help. Darin will get with Lori for some paper ads.
Village Powers/Data Centers:
- Supervisor Giles talked with Roger Lewiston from Christiana. They are zone 100% agriculture. Joe got some wording from Matt, John and Darin took pictures of to review.
Town Treasurer:
- Still working on. Darin has a couple of people interested.
Village of Cashton Extra Territory:
- Informational meeting July 16 at 7pm.
Recycling:
- Got call from Gail Frie, Recycling Manager. Our recycling had lots of stuff not permitted in it last time, including needles and feminine products. Darin stopped and talked to Joel about this.
Board of Review:
- July 27, 5-7pm.
Public Comment:
- Town Resident Fred Brandt wanted to know more about the Village of Cashton expansion. Darin explained.
- Town Resident Lori Schmitz wondered if board only voted on Village Powers. Or do town residents? Darin spike with Phil Hewitt, have to have a Public Hearing. Lori also asked about the process for Treasurer hiring. Darin said the Board would interview each interested person.
- Town Resident Carla Leppert felt the information that Matt shared last meeting about Village Powers was good for us to have them. Having Village powers in place would protect against data centers.
WTA Meeting
- Listening session at Rockton Bar July 23 at 6pm
