Town of Clinton Board Meeting
September 9, 2026
7:00 pm at the Town Hall, S1299 County Road D
Board Minutes
Meeting called to order by Chairman Von Ruden at 7:00pm
Pledge of Allegiance:
Roll Call:
- Chairman Darin Von Ruden, Supervisor #1 Joe Giles, Supervisor #2 John Chapiewsky, Town Treasurer Rachel Schroeder, Town Clerk Lori Hemmersbach.
Financial Report and Bills:
- M/S/P: Chapiewsky/Giles moved to approve the Financial Report. (3 ayes)
- M/S/P: Chapiewsky/Giles moved to approve the 9.10.26 transfer from Savings to Checking of $6,500. (3 ayes)
- M/S/P: Chapiewsky/Giles moved to pay the bills. (3 ayes)
Approve Minutes:
- M/S/P: Chapiewsky/Giles moved to approve the 8.18.26 Board Meeting Minutes as presented. (3 ayes)
Public Comment:
- Town Resident Lori Brown said the missing 25mph sign is off Cty S to Mill St in Bloomingdale. Patrolman Sanders will get one to post there.
- A Bloomingdale resident came to ask the Board to vacate a short, dead-end street off of Bloomingdale Road that’s not a street anymore. Darin will check into what it takes to vacate a street.
GFL Discussion:
- No action, Darin will tell them about our next meeting.
2026 Road Projects:
- Town Resident at the bottom of Carlson Ridge Road/Knapp Valley Road wants a hidden driveway sign as people are driving too fast past his house.
- M/S/P:Giles/Chapiewsky to order a hidden driveway sign for the intersection of Carlson Ridge and Knapp Valley Roads,and 25 mph speed limit sign for Mill St in Bloomingdale. (3 ayes)
- Scot has been grading roads. Did shoulder work on Ogden. Needs some more gravel on shoulder yet.
- Should we put weight limit signs on 2 Knapp Valley bridges? Yes. Scot will check with County to see if they have any 10 ton and 5 ton bridge weight limit signs.
- M/S/P: If county doesn’t have any signs, then Scot can order 2-10 ton and 2-5 ton bridge weight limit signs. (3 ayes)
Building Inspector:
- Josh Baranczyk has 1 test left, the electrical test. He will take test before the end of September.
Town Shop Cement:
- Devon Olson was out, will start in a couple of weeks most likely.
Dump Fence:
- Gates are falling apart. Got some 4” steel pipes donated to the Township for posts. Looked at new gate prices, cheaper to build new gates at M&S, estimated cost $850.00 (425 each)
- M/S/P: to purchase new gates for dump fence from M&S for estimated cost of $850.00. (3 ayes)
2027 Budget Discussion:
- October 7th closed session budget meeting for board.
Public Comment:
- Resident complained about I-Beams in road by Bloomingdale, along with vehicles. Resident Lori Brown commented that the junk is still there and still a problem.
- Part time help, have had interest from 2 people.
